How Erik approaches diagnosis
Diagnosis starts with your history: lifelong symptoms, family history, sleep, substances, and what you have already tried. Erik also looks for medical causes that can mimic psychiatric symptoms, such as thyroid problems or sleep apnea, and orders labs when they would change the plan. The diagnosis gets refined over follow-up visits.
Erik sees patients in person in Portland, San Diego, and San Francisco, and by video anywhere in Oregon and California.
